Emily Bednarczyk
Emily Bednarczyk has been a Nuclear Electronics and Radiological Controls Technician in the US Navy by trade (which sounds a lot cooler than it really is) for the past seven years. Emily is known by her friends and family for her fierce passion for helping people of all walks of life. Her tenacity for serving those in her community is exhibited by her extensive volunteer background with foundations, such as The Wes Strong Foundation and the Dalton Fox Foundation, who serve local families impacted by pediatric cancer. She regularly spends her free time visiting residents with dementia at her local retirement home, often reading them books, going through photo albums, and chaperoning them to trips out in the community. The greatest joy she experiences through her day job is getting to teach and provide guidance to countless young men and women who are just beginning to find themselves while navigating the intensities of Nuclear Power in a military setting. As part of this, she has been teaching Suicide Prevention and Victims Advocacy in addition to Nuclear Power Theory in the military for the last several years. As she approaches the end of her Navy career, Emily has taken up deepening her connection with her spiritual side by studying herbalism and its importance in spiritual growth and practice. Through her studies, she has come to understand and appreciate the fundamental connection between nurturing the physical body in order to nurture the spiritual, and hopes to bring the same inspiration to others at Fertile Ground Gathering.
