A gathering like Fertile Ground is not a small undertaking. While the idea for this particular festival began at ShadowGrove, there are others who have been involved in all stages of the process. None of this would be happening without their effort. So who is it exactly that has done all of this?





ShadowGrove is a small but steadily-growing community of people, each following his or her own spiritual path, who come together to enjoy what they have in common, learn from one another where they differ, and work together toward a deeper understanding of the many facets of the Earth Path. Initially, our sole gathering place was on four acres of private, wooded land in rural Manassas, Virginia. As our community has grown and strengthened, we have begun holding events and gatherings at other locations throughout the Northern Virginia area.

The ShadowGrove community includes people from many different paths. Wiccans, Druids, pantheists, animists, and others who find that wisdom and magic can be found in the infinite complexity of the natural world...all of these are welcome in our community. We exclude no one on the basis of belief; we have no "canon". Instead we operate under the idea that our differences make us stronger, and provide each of us with more opportunities to learn. Any person who wishes to explore the spiritual universe while being respectful to themselves, one another, and to nature itself, is welcome at ShadowGrove.

The Northern Virginia Pagan Network (NVPN) is a group founded on the goal of providing a networking resource for all Pagans, both groups and solitaries, in the Northern Virginia area. Our aim is to not only celebrate what we have in common but also our diversity.

We welcome participation by Pagans of all paths and actual location. We strive to help connect the strands of the Pagan community web throughout the area.

MoonFire is an open community of people believing the sacred is in all Earth elements and in each other. We follow and explore earth-centered spiritual paths as a Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans (CUUPs) fellowship. Our purpose is to explore, learn, and teach traditions of earth-based religions in a sacred and safe community, and celebrate holidays marked by the solstices and the four seasons. We strive to build a safe and nurturing community that is inclusive and provides for spiritual growth and service to the Earth and her children.
